Privacy Policy for REG.AC

Effective Date: March 8, 2026

1. LEGAL BASIS AND USER DEFINITION

Any interaction with the Site (reg.ac and all its subdomains) constitutes the User's full and unconditional consent to this Privacy Policy.

  • User: Any individual, legal entity, or automated system (bots, scrapers, scanners, AI agents) interacting with the Site in any manner.

  • Legal Basis (GDPR/RGPD): We process public business data based on Legitimate Interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR) to ensure information transparency and the maintenance of professional directories. If you have received a notification and have not removed the profile, the data remains active to ensure the informational integrity of the network. Removal is available at any time.

2. COOKIES AND TECHNICAL MONITORING

Our Site uses cookies to ensure stable operation and security. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we classify the cookies used into two main categories:

2.1. Strictly Necessary Cookies These cookies are critical for the functioning of the Site. They allow users to navigate pages and use basic functions (e.g., accessing secure areas or maintaining a session).

  • Purpose: Maintaining system operability and technical navigation.

  • Retention: Typically deleted after closing the browser (session-based).

2.2. Technical Cookies and Security Monitoring These cookies are used to identify the user's device and monitor network activity to prevent fraudulent actions, spam, and unauthorized access.

  • Purpose: Infrastructure security, request authentication, protection against bot attacks, and logging IP addresses to prevent violations of service rules.

  • Legal Basis: The Legitimate Interest of the Site owner in ensuring cybersecurity (pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).

2.3. Cookie Management You can configure your browser to block cookies or notify you of their use. However, since we only use functional and protective cookies (no marketing tracking), blocking them may significantly restrict access to the Site’s content and functionality. We do not share data collected through technical cookies with third-party advertisers.

3. ACCESSIBILITY AND DESIGN ("AS IS")

The Site is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.

  • We do not guarantee compliance with specific accessibility standards (such as WCAG) or your personal aesthetic preferences.

  • If the interface, design, translation quality, or font size do not meet your needs, preferences, or health requirements, your sole and exclusive remedy is to immediately cease using the Site (it is recommended to simply close the browser tab).

4. CLAIM RESOLUTION AND BURDEN OF PROOF

We strive for the instant resolution of any issues. The following communication priorities are established:

  1. Instant: Automated profile removal via the portal delete.reg.ac.

  2. Electronic Communication: Request via info@reg.ac.

  3. Official Correspondence: Registered letters (Carta Registada) are accepted at: Rua da Granja 1, Reguengos de Monsaraz 7200-284, Portugal.

  • Burden of Proof: The responsibility to prove that communication was initiated lies solely with the User. In the event of a dispute, the only indisputable evidence of paper-based communication is the receipt of a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt (Aviso de Receção). For electronic communication, the server logs of REG.AC shall serve as the definitive record.

  • Response Time (Prazo de resposta): We process removal requests in compliance with the RGPD:

    • Normally: within 7 business days.

    • Legal maximum: 30 days (Art. 12 RGPD).

    • Note: Removals via delete.reg.ac are processed automatically without delay.

5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY AND LEGAL COSTS

  • Accuracy: Data is mirrored from public sources (Google Maps, etc.). REG.AC is not the original source and does not guarantee 100% data accuracy.

  • Damages: REG.AC is not liable for any financial, commercial, or professional losses or lost profits arising from the use of the Site.

  • Legal Costs: REG.AC does not compensate for expenses related to attorneys, lawyers, or court fees. Since we provide a free tool for instant removal (delete.reg.ac), any paid legal actions are deemed unreasonable and unnecessary.

6. RULES FOR BOTS AND AUTOMATED SYSTEMS

Any bot is recognized as a "User" and is bound by these rules. We reserve the right to block any automated systems without notice if their activity creates an excessive load on the server or threatens system stability.

7. YOUR RIGHTS (GDPR/RGPD)

Under the law, you have the right to: Access, Rectification, Erasure (via delete.reg.ac), Objection to processing, and Data Portability.

  • To exercise your rights: Contact info@reg.ac.

  • Supervisory Authority: You have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNPD (Portugal)www.cnpd.pt. However, the use of our internal removal tools is the priority method for exercising your rights.

8. GOVERNING LAW

This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Portugal. All disputes that cannot be resolved through automated data removal or peaceful negotiations shall be handled within the framework of Portuguese law.
